Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 21 October 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Around website, app and related services (the Service). Around helps users:
- discover and compare local events and experiences;
- save events and receive alerts;
- obtain personalised recommendations;
- invite others;
- purchase tickets or follow links to third-party sellers;
- buy Mystery Tickets where offered; and
- subscribe to Around+.
Around may also allow event organisers, venues and other businesses to publish or promote listings. The Service is operated by [FULL LEGAL COMPANY NAME], trading as Around, registered in [JURISDICTION] under company number [NUMBER], with its registered office at [ADDRESS] and VAT number [VAT NUMBER, IF APPLICABLE] (“Around”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] or [CUSTOMER-SERVICE TELEPHONE]. Our EU Digital Services Act point of contact is [DSA CONTACT EMAIL]. Communications may be submitted in English and [OTHER ACCEPTED LANGUAGES]. If required because we have no EU establishment, our Digital Services Act legal representative is [DSA LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE]. Our [PRIVACY POLICY LINK] explains how we use personal data, and [COOKIE NOTICE LINK] explains our use of cookies and similar technologies. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you purchase a ticket or subscription, the information displayed at checkout—including the seller’s identity, price, fees, renewal terms, event conditions and cancellation rights—forms part of your contract. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory UK or EU consumer rights.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 to create an account. You must be at least 18, or have legally valid parental or guardian authorisation, to make a purchase or start a paid subscription. An event may impose a higher age limit, identification requirement or other entry condition. If you use Around for a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business. Sections expressly addressed to Business Publishers apply in addition to the other applicable sections.
3. Accounts
You must:
- provide accurate information;
- keep it up to date;
- protect your credentials; and
- tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
You are responsible for activity under your account unless it was caused by our failure to use reasonable security. You may not:
- create an account using another person’s identity;
- transfer an account without permission; or
- use automated means to create or control accounts.
We may require reasonable verification to protect users, prevent fraud or confirm a Business Publisher’s identity and authority.
4. How Around works
Around aggregates event information from organisers, venues, ticketing partners, public sources and other authorised providers. It ranks listings using factors that may include:
- your selected location, date, budget and interests;
- distance;
- availability;
- price;
- freshness;
- listing quality;
- popularity;
- your use of the Service; and
- sponsorship.
Recommendations are aids to discovery, not professional advice or guarantees. Availability and prices can change. You should check the final event, ticket, travel, accessibility and venue information before ordering. A listing labelled “Sponsored”, “Promoted”, “Ad” or similar has been paid for or otherwise commercially influenced. Paid placement may increase prominence, but does not guarantee availability, quality or suitability.
5. Location, alerts, saves and invitations
You may select a location manually or permit device location. You can withdraw device permission at any time, although this may reduce nearby-result accuracy. Saving an event or creating an alert does not:
- reserve a ticket;
- lock a price; or
- guarantee availability.
Alerts may be delayed or fail because of device, network, partner-data or service conditions. If you invite another person, you confirm that you are permitted to use their contact details for that invitation. Do not send unlawful, misleading, abusive or unsolicited invitations. The recipient is not bound by these Terms unless they separately use Around.
6. Who sells the ticket or service
The checkout or redirect page will identify the seller and explain the applicable arrangement.
6.1 Partner sale
If a ticketing partner, organiser or venue is identified as seller, Around acts as a discovery or referral service. Your purchase contract is with that seller and its sale, entry, cancellation and refund terms apply. Around may receive a commission.
6.2 Around or agency sale
If Around is identified as seller, or clearly acts in the name of a disclosed organiser, the checkout information and these Terms govern the purchase, together with any disclosed organiser or venue conditions. We will not present Around as the seller where it is only an introducer. Before you place an order, you will be shown:
- the seller’s identity;
- the main characteristics of the purchase;
- the total price, including mandatory fees;
- accepted payment methods; and
- applicable cancellation information.
The final order control will clearly indicate that placing the order creates an obligation to pay.
7. Orders, prices and payment
An order is an offer to buy. A binding contract is formed when the relevant seller sends an order confirmation, unless checkout states a different lawful process. If an order cannot be accepted, any amount taken will be refunded. Prices are displayed in the stated currency and include applicable consumer taxes unless clearly stated otherwise. Mandatory charges will be disclosed before the order button. Optional extras will not be pre-selected. You authorise the disclosed payment provider to charge the selected payment method. Obvious pricing or availability errors do not bind the seller where you knew or reasonably should have known there was an error. We will contact you and offer the choice of:
- confirming at the correct price; or
- receiving a refund.
Ticket quantity, seating, delivery method, transferability, resale restrictions and identification requirements are as shown before purchase or in the seller’s conditions.
8. Mystery Tickets
A Mystery Ticket is an event or experience selected by Around from available inventory using the guardrails displayed before purchase. These may include:
- date or date range;
- location or travel radius;
- budget;
- interests;
- ticket quantity;
- age; and
- accessibility requirements.
Before ordering, you will be told:
- what will remain unknown until reveal;
- the reveal date or trigger;
- the number and category of tickets;
- the total price and fees;
- the location boundary and time window;
- any material exclusions, age limits or accessibility limitations then known;
- whether Around or a partner is the seller; and
- the cancellation and refund position.
By ordering, you accept that the event’s identity and details expressly described as a mystery are not grounds for a refund merely because they are not your first choice. This does not affect your rights if the match:
- falls materially outside the promised guardrails;
- is misdescribed;
- is cancelled;
- is not supplied with reasonable care and skill; or
- is otherwise non-conforming under applicable law.
You must provide material restrictions before ordering. We will use reasonable care in matching, but cannot guarantee subjective enjoyment, weather, travel conditions, artist line-ups, supporting acts, exact seats unless promised, or circumstances controlled by an organiser or venue.
9. Around+
Around+ is an optional paid subscription offering the benefits described on the subscription page. Benefits may include discounted tickets or member benefits. Before sign-up, we will show:
- the price;
- billing frequency;
- any minimum commitment;
- trial or introductory terms;
- the renewal date;
- the steps needed to cancel; and
- material limits on benefits.
Unless checkout says otherwise, Around+ renews automatically for successive billing periods until cancelled. We will send renewal reminders and provide cooling-off or cancellation rights where required by applicable law, including rights applicable after a trial or qualifying long-term renewal in the UK. You can cancel online through **Account
Around+
Cancel, or by [ALTERNATIVE CANCELLATION METHOD]**. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless law or checkout terms provide an earlier date. We will acknowledge cancellation in a durable format, such as email. Benefits:
- have no cash value;
- may be subject to availability; and
- must not be resold.
We may change future benefits on reasonable advance notice. We will not remove a core paid benefit during a committed period without a valid reason and an appropriate remedy, which may include cancellation and a proportionate refund.
10. Consumer cancellation and withdrawal rights
10.1 Subscriptions and digital services
Where UK or EU distance-contract law gives you a 14-day cancellation or withdrawal right, the period normally starts when the contract is concluded. If you ask us to begin a service during that period, we may require your express request and may deduct a proportionate amount for service supplied before cancellation where the law allows. For digital content supplied immediately, we will obtain any express consent and acknowledgement required before a statutory withdrawal right can be lost. For a UK subscription, any additional statutory renewal cooling-off period, renewal reminder, refund or simple-cancellation right will apply as required by the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and implementing rules. To cancel or withdraw:
- use the online cancellation control; or
- send an unambiguous statement to [SUPPORT EMAIL].
You may use, but do not have to use, the model cancellation form at the end of these Terms.
10.2 Event tickets and dated leisure services
A statutory 14-day change-of-mind right generally does not apply to tickets or leisure services scheduled for a specific date or period, including many Mystery Tickets. Any additional refund or exchange right will be shown before purchase or provided by the seller’s policy. This exception does not remove rights for cancelled, materially misdescribed or non-conforming services.
11. Event changes, cancellations and refunds
Events are controlled by organisers and venues. Dates, times, locations, programmes, artists, teams, speakers, seating and entry rules may change. If a material change or cancellation occurs, the seller’s terms and applicable law determine the remedy. Where Around is the seller, we will provide the remedy required by law and the checkout terms. Unless law requires otherwise:
- a cancelled event will qualify for a refund of the ticket price and mandatory ticket fees paid to Around;
- a materially rescheduled or relocated event will be handled under the policy disclosed at checkout and applicable law;
- reasonable, disclosed substitutions or minor schedule changes do not automatically qualify for a refund; and
- travel, accommodation or other consequential costs are not reimbursed unless caused by our breach and recoverable under mandatory law.
Refunds are made to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed or legally required. If a partner is the seller, request the refund from that partner. Around support may assist but cannot promise a remedy outside the partner contract.
12. Entry, conduct and accessibility
You must comply with lawful venue and organiser rules, including:
- age requirements;
- identification requirements;
- security and bag policies;
- admission times; and
- conduct requirements.
Admission may be refused for a lawful reason, including intoxication, threatening behaviour, invalid tickets or failure to meet a disclosed entry condition. Accessibility information is based on information supplied by organisers and venues. Tell us or the seller about essential requirements before purchase. Contact support promptly if a confirmed accessibility arrangement is not delivered.
13. Your content and licence to Around
“User Content” includes reviews, images, text, listing information, messages and other material you submit for display or processing through the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant Around a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, translate, display and distribute it only as needed to:
- operate and secure the Service;
- promote and improve the Service; and
- make public listings available through Around’s channels.
The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for lawful backups, evidence and material already shared outside the Service with your permission. You confirm that you have the necessary rights and that your content is accurate, lawful and not misleading. You must disclose commercial relationships and ensure advertising is identifiable.
14. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law or facilitate illegal, unsafe, fraudulent or discriminatory activity;
- publish false events, counterfeit tickets, misleading prices or hidden mandatory fees;
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity or other rights;
- harass, threaten, exploit or endanger another person;
- upload malware, probe security, scrape contrary to access controls, overload the Service or bypass technical restrictions;
- manipulate rankings, reviews, saves, clicks, availability or advertising metrics;
- use bots to purchase scarce inventory;
- resell tickets contrary to law or disclosed restrictions;
- collect personal data from the Service without a lawful basis; or
- use Around’s name, branding or content in a way that falsely suggests endorsement.
15. Content moderation, reporting and appeals
We may review, demote, label, restrict or remove content, suspend monetisation, limit visibility or restrict accounts where reasonably necessary to:
- enforce these Terms;
- comply with law;
- protect safety; or
- prevent fraud.
Moderation may use automated detection and human review. We consider the nature, severity, frequency, context and impact of the issue and aim to act proportionately. To report illegal content, an unsafe listing, intellectual-property infringement or another Terms violation, use [REPORTING LINK] or email [SAFETY/LEGAL EMAIL] with:
- the listing URL;
- the reasons for the report; and
- available supporting information.
Reports may be submitted without an account where required by law. Where required, we will provide:
- a clear statement of reasons for a restriction; and
- an internal appeal route.
Appeal through [APPEAL LINK] within [6 MONTHS OR APPLICABLE PERIOD]. EU users may also have access to a certified out-of-court dispute-settlement body under the Digital Services Act. Nothing prevents a report to a regulator, law-enforcement agency or court. We may act without advance notice where content appears illegal, creates urgent risk, involves fraud or security, or where notice would undermine an investigation. We will not remove lawful content solely because it is unpopular.
16. Additional terms for Business Publishers
This section applies when a business publishes, promotes or sells an event, experience or ticket through Around (a Business Publisher).
16.1 Verification and trader information
You must provide accurate:
- legal name;
- address;
- contact details;
- registration and tax information;
- payment details; and
- evidence of identity and authority requested by Around.
You authorise us to display information that consumer or platform law requires. You must keep that information current.
16.2 Listing obligations
You are responsible for the event, inventory and listing information you supply. Listings must include material information a consumer needs, including:
- seller identity;
- event or service characteristics;
- date and time;
- location;
- total price and mandatory fees;
- age and accessibility restrictions;
- cancellation policy; and
- any material risk or limitation.
You must honour confirmed orders and comply with applicable consumer, advertising, equality, safety, ticketing and tax law.
16.3 Ranking and paid influence
Main ranking parameters are:
- relevance to the user’s selected interests, location, date and budget;
- availability;
- price and value;
- listing quality and completeness;
- freshness;
- popularity and engagement;
- operational reliability; and
- the user’s prior interactions.
Paid promotion is a separate parameter and is labelled. Around may adjust parameters to improve relevance, integrity or safety, but will explain material changes where law requires.
16.4 Data access
You may receive your account, listing, order and campaign-performance data through the dashboard. You receive personal user data only where necessary for a transaction or another disclosed purpose. You must use it only for that purpose and in accordance with applicable law. Around may use aggregated and anonymised service data for analytics and improvement. The Privacy Policy explains personal-data roles and disclosures.
16.5 Fees and payment
Publisher, commission, advertising, refund, chargeback and settlement terms will be shown in the commercial order or dashboard. Consumer money is not treated as Around revenue unless Around is the identified seller or merchant of record. You are responsible for your taxes unless the commercial order states otherwise.
16.6 Restriction, suspension and termination
We may restrict an individual listing or suspend a Business Publisher for:
- illegality;
- safety concerns;
- fraud;
- repeated consumer harm;
- material breach;
- non-payment;
- inaccurate trader information; or
- security risk.
Where practicable and legally required, we will give reasons and an opportunity to correct the issue. We may terminate a Business Publisher account on at least 30 days’ notice unless a legal, urgent safety, fraud, repeated-breach or security reason justifies shorter notice.
16.7 Changes to Business Publisher terms
We will give Business Publishers at least 15 days’ notice of changes where UK or EU Platform-to-Business rules require it, and longer where reasonable changes require technical or commercial adaptation. A change may take effect sooner where required by law or necessary for urgent security or fraud prevention.
16.8 Business complaints and mediation
Business Publishers may complain free of charge through **[BUSINESS
COMPLAINT LINK/EMAIL] about technical issues, platform conduct or moderation. We will assess the complaint within a reasonable time. Where applicable, we are willing to engage with the following mediators: [NAME AT LEAST TWO P2B MEDIATORS, IF REQUIRED]**. This does not prevent either party from bringing legal proceedings.
16.9 Business indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, a Business Publisher will indemnify Around against third-party claims, regulatory losses and reasonable costs arising from its:
- unlawful listing;
- event or ticket;
- advertising;
- intellectual-property infringement;
- tax breach; or
- misuse of personal data.
This does not apply to the extent the claim or loss was caused by Around.
17. Intellectual property
Around and its licensors own the
Service, software, design, branding and content supplied by us. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, adapt, distribute, sell, reverse engineer or commercially exploit the Service except as law expressly permits. Third-party event names, images and marks belong to their respective owners and do not imply endorsement.
18. Third-party services and app stores
The Service may link to ticket sellers, maps, transport, payment, identity and other third-party services. We are not responsible for a third party’s separate service, content or contract, but we remain responsible for obligations that the law places on Around. If you download the app from an app store, the store’s rules also apply. These Terms are between you and Around, not the app-store operator, except where the store’s mandatory terms say otherwise.
19. Availability and changes to the Service
We aim to provide the Service with reasonable care and skill but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may maintain, secure, test or improve the Service and may withdraw a feature for a valid operational, legal, safety or commercial reason. If a change materially reduces a paid feature during a committed period, we will give reasonable notice where possible and provide any remedy required by law. This may include a right to cancel or a proportionate refund. We are not required to keep a free feature indefinitely.
20. Suspension and account closure
You may close your account through [ACCOUNT DELETION PATH] or by contacting support. Closing an account does not cancel a separate ticket contract or subscription unless the flow clearly says so. We may suspend or close an account for:
- material or repeated breach;
- fraud;
- illegality;
- safety risk;
- non-payment; or
- misuse.
Unless urgent action is necessary, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond. We will explain the main reason and provide an appeal where required. Provisions that by their nature should survive—such as payment obligations, intellectual property, liability, dispute and recordkeeping terms—continue after closure.
21. Consumer guarantees and disclaimers
If you are a consumer, the Service and any digital service supplied by Around must conform to the contract and be provided with the standard required by applicable law, including reasonable care and skill. Your statutory remedies are not excluded. Event descriptions and availability supplied by third parties may change. Except for responsibilities that cannot be excluded and express promises made at checkout, Around does not guarantee that every third-party listing is error-free or that a recommended event will match subjective taste.
22. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- deliberate misconduct;
- breach of statutory rights; or
- any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
22.1 Consumers
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for:
- loss that was not foreseeable;
- business loss arising from consumer use; or
- loss caused by an event organiser or ticket seller under a contract to which Around is not a party.
These exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by mandatory law.
22.2 Businesses
If you are a Business Publisher, and subject to the first paragraph of this section, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, anticipated savings or data. Each party’s aggregate contractual liability in a 12-month period is limited to [THE GREATER OF £/€ AMOUNT OR FEES PAID/PAYABLE IN THAT PERIOD], except for:
- payment obligations;
- confidentiality;
- data-protection breach;
- intellectual-property infringement;
- indemnities; or
- liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
This liability cap must be completed in the commercial terms before launch.
23. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms for legal, regulatory, safety, technical or reasonable commercial reasons. We will post the revised Terms and, for material changes, give advance notice appropriate to the effect of the change. A change will not retrospectively alter a completed purchase. If a material change adversely affects an ongoing paid service, you may end that service before the change takes effect and receive any refund required by law. Business Publisher notice periods are addressed in section 16.7.
24. Complaints and disputes
Contact [SUPPORT EMAIL] first so we can try to resolve a complaint. We will acknowledge and handle complaints fairly. If you are a consumer:
- these Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, but you keep mandatory protections of the country in which you live;
- the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, and you may bring a claim in the courts available to you under mandatory consumer law; and
- where we are required or agree to use an alternative dispute-resolution provider, its name and website will be stated here: [ADR PROVIDER / NOT APPLICABLE].
If you are a Business Publisher, these Terms and non-contractual disputes are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the commercial order states otherwise or mandatory law requires a different result.
25. General
If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your contract without our consent, except where mandatory law permits. We may transfer it as part of a reorganisation or sale if this does not reduce consumer rights. Only you, Around and any disclosed seller or principal intended to benefit from a specific checkout term may enforce these Terms. Headings are for convenience. If a translated version conflicts with the English version, the English version controls only to the extent local law permits and the translation was not the version on which you reasonably relied.
26. Model cancellation form
Use this form only where a statutory or contractual cancellation right applies.
